Hi all, The traffic regarding parrot seems a bit light. In past years of involvement, the bulk of accepted proposals were parrot or Perl 6 related. I think we would like to see at least 10 applications here this year. So, a few questions for parrot people: Are there enough exciting and accessible potential projects within and around parrot? Are we making them clear enough on the wiki? Should we have some more info about how the student should get started coming up with a parrot-related "invent your own project" proposal? More links to parrot info? Are there some students starting to appear in #parrot and I'm just not noticing it? Did your local perl mongers list get my "call for proposals" mail? http://use.perl.org/~Eric+Wilhelm/journal/35953 Do *you* know any students who would be good candidates? Am I just being impatient? I'm curious whether there is a lack of interest or a failure to adequately promote the opportunity. (Or possibly procrastination, but students who appear before the 31st seem likely to make for a more successful, drama-free summer.) I think the most successful students are going to come from one-on-one connections, so I would ask everyone to please try to contact at least one student by Monday. Thanks, Eric
