That's the problem that I am facing at work. I see from glancing at the CPAN that you've not deleted the older versions of Devel::Cover, so at least people would have a fallback position, but I suspect that requiring 5.8+ would seriously hamper the adoption of Devel::Cover. Later this might be practical, but for now, I'd be concerned. So far, I've only convinced one team at my work is using Devel::Cover, but they're already using 5.8. Trying to get others to adopt it would be impossible without 5.6 support.
