I delude myself into thinking I'm more or less in charge. At the moment Steve Fink has the release manager pumpkin. Jeff Goff and Simon Cozens are pumpking emeritii. Other than that it's pretty loose, with folks mostly deferring to whoever's done the core work on whatever piece of the infrastructure you're looking at.

They did stuff that didn't suck. It's pretty much a meritocracy.

What role does Larry Wall play at this point?

None, really, other than defining the language features that we need to make sure work well.
