A *very* nice start. Please don't burn yourself out, though -- I got worried when you gave the whole rundown on the configure system. It's a great thing to have documented, but it's a lot to wade through before getting into the juicy bits. (For you, I mean -- it's sufficiently brief in the document to keep your readers from getting bogged down.)
One general comment: much of this (unavoidably) duplicates information available elsewhere. It would be good to see many more "see ... for more information" links, even if those links cover only part of what you're discussing. I realize you're probably not aware of all of those yet. Hopefully when you send out the POD version the more experienced people around here will chip in pointers. (I'll try to help, but I'm trying to plow through a snowdrift of patches at the same time.) For the POD, I'd prefer if you sent it uncompressed to make it as easy as possible for people to reply to it and add in their corrections. Either leave out the images, or attach them independently. Oh, and spell Piers Cawley's name correctly! :-)
