Uhm. Is this actually true? C runs pretty much anywhere.

C is a lingua franca. Let's try and deliberately *lower* the barrier of entry,
rather than forcing people to pole-vault.

That said, C++ does have *something* going for it.
Or at least, I suppose it must have.
