I don't think we should make decisions about the software we use for 
development based on political views. The decisions should be based on 
technical merit and general availability.

The only requirements for perl 6 development above and beyond normal perl 
building should be a unix-style diff creator. All the rest is a goodie, but 
shouldn't be necessary.

I'd rather not bet the development farm on any untested software. (Well, 
besides perl 6... :) This isn't any judgement on Simon's abilities, I just 
don't want to be debugging (and possibly regularly rebuilding) the source 
repository at the same time we're trying to figure out where we whacked 
perl. One wildly variable variable at a time, please... :)

Perforce is nice, works very well, is liked by a lot of folks doing perl 
development now, and generally meets our needs. I don't see any reason why 
we shouldn't use it.
