>I hear you. Right now the closest thing we have to the iMDB is Z39.50.

Is the LC server the "definitive" Z39.50 database? If I suck down a record
from there, send it to my database, add more information, etc., etc., how
does it get back to the LC? Does it? Would the way I'd contribute be to
simply run and promote my own Z39.50 server? What's the process to go
through twelve different Z39.50 databases and aggregate all the
information, all possibly containing minor tweaks to the one record
you're interested in? (Warning: these questions stem from my illusionary
understanding of Z39.50. I've yet to fully read up on it.)

Gotcha. I'll probably send a patch (to the list? where do patches go?) to
revise the ::Tutorial to make mention of these - my request/thought came
from seeing the raw ::Field creation in the ::Tutorial.

>Remember doing this for all the MARC tags is probably [not sane].

Yeah, I had no intent there - anything I do would standardize around the LC
MARC booklet/pamphlet thing. At least for now. The "commonly used" stuff
seems good enough to me.

I've already a SF account (morbus), and my most popular (AmphetaDesk)
is integrated in all the pages of SourceForge; see your own project
integration here: http://sf.net/export/rss2_project?group_id=1254. You
can certainly add me, but I don't see myself sending straight to CVS
anytime soon - I'd rather send patches to the list (or someone) to
sanity-check "my MARC intellect is three-weeks old".

You looked via a pre-built script or web-based access?
