You will probably find that a script that simply contains:

use DBD::Oracle;

will generate the same error.

I think the important piece to concentrate on is the "Perhaps a required
shared library or dll isn't installed ... "

I've never used DBD::Oracle (and know nothing about it), but the error
message suggests to me that there's a dll (perhaps an Oracle dll ?) that's
not locatable on the current PC. Presumably, on the "other" PC, that dll is
locatable - and that's why you don't get the error on that machine.

If you're lucky, that type of error message is accompanied by a pop-up that
tells you the name of the missing dll - but it might depend on the actual
version of windows you're running. Do you get a pop-up ?

I can't see any sign of version 1.17 at trouchelle (only 1.16 and 1.19). I
suspect that your 1.17 might have come from ActiveState. If you get stuck
try:

ppm install
http://ppm.activestate.com/PPMPackages/5.8-windows/DBD-Oracle.ppd

That should install version 1.17, plus oci.dll and oraociei10.dll - which
are probably needed to avoid the error message you reported.

You may have to 'ppm remove DBD-Oracle' before you can successfully run that
'ppm install ...' command.
And you'll need to accept an agreement ... just follow the prompts.

Cheers,
Rob
