If it's just a matter of getting File-HomeDir-0.06 installed you can do it
the old fashioned way, by downloading and extracting the source tarball from
cpan, then running 'perl makefile.pl', 'nmake test', and 'nmake install' -
which worked fine for me. (Or you could install it with ppm.)
If you're asking about the CPAN.pm failure, I can't really help (as I don't
use that module) - but there's apparently something wrong with your
configuration of it. Looks to me that perhaps it hasn't been told to use
'nmake' as the make program. (You'll want to use the make program that's
reported by 'perl -V:make' - which I assume is 'nmake').
Thanks for the various replies.
I am asking both question - the immediate prob is to get File-HomeDir
but it would be nice to get CPAN.pm to work.
Further investigation following you suggestions
- perl -V:make says make='nmake'
- I don;t have nmake. Where do I get this from?
