It's true and I'm agreed apa pendapat Bapak Hadi.
Bukan saya ikut2an Captain hadi. tapi memang belum perlu untuk menambah sekolah pelayaran yang telah ada, dan yang telah ada saja terutama yang swasta masih kurang sekali fasilitasnya untuk menunjang dan menciptakan pelaut pelaut unggul/alias asal cetak. Masak kalah kita sama Malaysia. Singapore Yang kita duluan adanya sekolah pelayaran di bumi ibu pertiwi.
 
Maaf juga kalo saya ceplas ceplos, memang kenyataan.

At the moment, maritime education and training in Indonesia for various levels are sufficient in amount. It means, it is no reason for us to discuss about establishing a new school. Not this time.

 

The most crucial matter and big problem for us now is, how to ensure that STCW 95 is well implemented, so, every country have no doubt on employing Indonesian seafarers as they satisfy with Indonesian seafarer’s competencies.

 

Existing Education and Training for seafarers in Indonesia both government and non-government are too many, and their quality are mostly doubted. They need to be improved in quality instead of quantity. Like BP2IP Barombong, originally it was established to perform as “Rating school”. Nowadays BP2IP Barombong is not focusing in competencies of “Supporting Level” seafarers as they now more concern in ANT-ATT-IV and V (Operational Level).

Frankly speaking, most of private schools in Indonesia are only want to collect money from participant for they own interest instead of orientation nationally.

 

The most important thing now for us (we, who are thinking intensively for better Indonesian Seafarers in future) is try to fight for getting TRAINING SHIPS.

Ask to Mr. Isogai, how many students for all maritime E/T institutions in Japan? They have 5 training ships. We have roughly more than 5 times in amount of students compares to Japanese. We do not have even a single training ship…….?????????????

 

Intinya pak, kita sekarang ini tidak butuh tambahan sekolah, tetapi perlu membenahi mutu pendidikan dari setiap sekolahan yang sudah ada. Yang sangat kita butuhkan adalah KAPAL LATIH setidaknya seperti TS SEIUN MARU.

Maaf saya bicara idealnya. Kalau tujuannya lain saya nggak tahu…….
