Hmm. I scan B&W negatives as color transparancies then invert and make levels
adjustments in Photoshop so this may or may not affect me.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that! With the small grain of the film, the big
negative size and the relatively low 1125 dpi resolution of the Scan Multi, I
get virtually no grain information at all. Really beautiful and works a treat
with Genuine Fractals for scaling up images.
