Here is why I do use my 28mm prime on occasion: (1) you can set the lens at f8 and line it up with the lines on the barrel for hyperfocal distance and everything will be sharp from infinity to about as close as the lens would focus. If you need that much depth of field and have to shoot quickly it is very handy. (2) you can get sneaky grab shots. Don't think I need to elaborate much here, right? (3) when what you want all of in your picture doesnt fit on your 50mm. (4) It is very useful in my small apartment to get all of something in that I'm selling on ebay when there is no way to back up farther than a certain distance. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
