The latest update of LR Classic incorporates this "AI noise reduction" as well. 
I'll have to go backwards in time to find some older photos that need it, that 
I have already processed in older versions of LR and saved as TIFFs, so see 
what difference it makes. 

In general, none of my current cameras produce files that have any problems 
with noise. I don't think I've touched the noise reduction sliders with any of 
my photos for a couple of years now, at least. My more usual adjustment is to 
sharpening … where I find LR Classic tends, with some cameras, to over-sharpen 
by default.
