There is a huge horse chestnut tree standing in the lane in front of our house, more than 4 m diameter and almost a century old. A few weeks ago I noticed the arrival of tiny mushrooms in splits of the bark at both sides of the tree. Though these mushrooms (velvet shank or Flammulina velutipes) are getting beautiful, I'm concerned about the fate of this tree. I've asked the community services for an expert to inspect the tree before it is too late and parts will tumble in the wrong direction during a storm. https://flic.kr/p/2oavVJ3 Henk -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
