John, I think that most of us are saying that APS will be supplanted by digital - not film in general. The small number of APS cameras (percentage wise) is one of the key issues. The other is that the most obvious advantage to APS is the size of body/lens combinations. Digital can be competitive here because of the small sensor size. It will slowly die out much like 110. Film will become much more expensive and your choices of places to process/print it will diminish. How quick is the real question. I suspect quite a few years. I am seeing big retailers (Target, Walmart, etc) starting to drop APS - both film and cameras are now on clearance shelves (good buys for the moment), but when those are gone, prices on film will start to rise and as the P&S bodies break, they will not be replaced by new APS bodies. The options will be 35mm or digital. Digital will be able to provide at least the smaller size.
