This appears to be the point. I've simply never printed enough. I was quite happy with my old 1270 which never gave me any problem. I still have a number of prints hanging here after well over 10 years - behind glass - that still look fine. The trouble started when Epson repaired my 1270 to death and offered me a discount on a 2400 which I thought I couldn't refuse. Little did I know. I've never even contemplated making money from my photography. I want it to be fun and nothing else. In the last 20 years, I've sold exactly two prints. The rest is hanging on my own walls. Obviously not enough to keep a printer with pigment-based inks happy. Ralf -- Ralf R.
