thank you Eric. i am pretty agnostic but i was quite fascinated by him too. among other things, he has been encouraging the villagers around (the nearest village is about 20km from the ashram) to adopt solar tech. most teachers in the government schools in the district go on long leave because of difficulty in travelling to and living in such terrain. he supports about 40 teachers in the district, paying them a modest salary from his own funds (he travels out of the ashram in december/january every year to other places in india seeking funds for the project). fascinating character.
