My friend John managed to beat his parents into submission and made the pilgrimage to Portmeirion in Summer 1969 when they were on vacation. No photos from that visitation survive either. (I think he also managed to corner and annoy J.R.R. Tolkien that summer … John was quite the persistent preppie.) :-)
What a coincidence, a couple of my friends are both persistent and annoying too.
