The handling is…. almost German
In some racing circles the Porsche GT4 is keeping the GT 350R honest.
I haven't heard one in person but by all reports the wail of the flat crank
in the GT350R is really special.

The new Mustangs are *very* good, especially from a bang for the buck
standpoint.
The GT350R is simply amazing. I had a chance to flog one around the track
at Laguna Seca for a couple of laps before they started shipping. Revs up
to… seems like infinity. The handling is…. almost German. (It is, in
fact capable of matching 911 lap times, at half the price) And the sound…
oh the sound….
I wonder if selling a kidney on the black market would cover one?

With this edition Mustang, Ford engineered the car to be available
worldwide right from the assembly plant. Previously, cars had to be
converted for the various markets outside North America. It's proven to
be a successful strategy as sales of the car, in markets where it was
generally not available have been very good. Latest sales figures show
the Mustang outsold Porsche sports cars in Germany.
This edition is among the best ever IMO. Still not a 'sports car' but a
great performance product, especially with the new IRS rear end.
The Mustang GT350R is the first high volume car to offer carbon fiber
road wheels.
Go Ford !

Simpson's motors in Phalaborwa recently dumped their GM dealership in
favour
of Ford. This morning I noticed they had this Mustang 5.0 GT fastback on
offer. We have never had anything like this available locally before.
The
price is R819 000 (~$60 000) which is about twice the US price with 45%
import duty added.
