I was born in Toronto and grew up in various locales around southern Ontario. I still have relatives there. With few exceptions the photographic opportunities in that area do not leap out at you...unless you enjoy photographing corn fields. The Niagara area is nice, especially downstream from the Falls towards Niagara On The Lake. The Welland Canal is also interesting if you are into shipping. The Lake Huron shoreline is reputed to be one of the best places to photograph sunsets. Bayfield is one of my favourite spots for that. Things get more interesting around Georgian Bay.
