Stephen, To my thinking, B&H has a serious credibility problem. I once bought a few B+W MC filters. One of them was to be a 58mm slim. But inside the case was a 58mm non-slim, worth considerably less.
You can say, "Nobody's perfect." But B&H explicitly writes on their receipt and elsewhere that every new item they ship is shipped in the original manufacturer's box. The last thing I want is to get into a my word-against-theirs dispute about what was actually shipped to me. Fortunately, they believed me--that time. The point is, given their stated policy, this should never have happened. Another time, I had written in the online form, "I prefer email, but if you must call me, call me at my work number." Well, they left a message about a pending order on my home machine, and my wife heard it. Stephen wrote: Me: "I ordered a 52-58 step-up ring. That's what the baggie was labeled, but inside was a [different] step-down."
