This set of photos is one reason I was almost late getting to UPS to send Colin
the cambro. I went out to the shed to get some packing supplies and the light
on some flowers caught my eye, so I had to grab my camera.
I'm actually dithering between two different crops of this shot.

i prefer this one, but would like to see an even wider field to the left and
perhaps above, to get more of those purple fronds and get more of the sense
that the bee is in a field of fronds
Taking your advice for as much purple, and Dan's advice for as little blue, I
cropped it 4x5 all the way to the left:

i do like that better; has a sense of natural balance to the layout too
in the set, i was drawn to 20120809-_LRC6060.jpg because it is, if you will, more
"candid"; symmetry will always have a special circuit in my visual cortex, but
i tend to find disheveled, rotting, dried, smashed or stunted plant life a refreshing
change from perfect flowers
That was almost the opposite, being a flower not yet fully open, rather than
one that was nearly used up.
i did cite "candid" and "disheveled", and i indirectly referenced asymmetry,
but unripe, not ready, just waking up, awkwardly unfurling ... those would be
some additional not-so-usual views of plants that i appreciate
