Judging by the results that was a steal! The fact that it wastes a lot
of light may keep it from overwhelming the subject and screaming flash.

Subject: enablement $30 ring light adapter

On my way to the city I stopped at ephoto (the local importers of cheap chinese
photo gear) to pick up a set of barn doors for my studio strobe.
While I was there I splurged on one of those $30 adapters to turn a speed light
into a ring light. It eats up a lot of light, but seems to do a decent job.
These are some quick and dirty macros of the mushrooms in my front yard:

Summary: I'd rather have a real ring light strobe, but for $30 vs $300, it'll
work for now.
