Split prism focusing screens.  The same way that I dealt with focusing most 
things with the K100, K20 and K-x.

And, I was using a wee bit of hyperbole in my post.  The AF and AE of the K20 
are not unusable, they are merely unreliable.  I've found that what works for 
me is to put it in manual mode, press the green button, take a test exposure 
and chimp the histogram.  With the K-5, the metering accuracy is good enough 
that for the most part, after checking the exposure, I don't have to readjust.  
With the K20 that wasn't so, especially when shooting with flash.  The K-5 
still gets a bit confused with the flash, especially if there is something 
reflective in the scene.

I really try to only be completely unreasonable in my writing for humorous 
intent.
