Fun tour. One of the great things about this list is the opportunity to
see places I'd otherwise never get to see...on a more personal level
than one could ever hope for from travel books.

Hi all,
Timaru is a port city 100 miles south of here. It started as a farming centre
and grew pretty quickly with the port and railway station. I have a strong
family connection with the place: my mother was born in Timaru but lives in
Christchurch, and my dad was born in Christchurch and now lives in Timaru.
Dad moved down there in the late 80s when he landed his first teaching job, and
my brother and I used to go there once a month to visit for the weekend.
Anyway, Janet was presenting a training course down there yesterday so I went
down with her and did some sightseeing while she was working. This is a
collection of snapshots I made as I slowly made my way from Ashbury Park around
to the cemetery to visit my grandparents. There wasn't really a lot to see
after the railway station so that's where the photos end.
