Nothing at the show, no press releases of future possibilities, etc. I'm sure they're working on a DSLR. Since things change so rapidly in this area, they must come up with something that's ahead of the curve at a competitive price. I know that takes time, $$$, talent, and a crystal ball. I also know that they probably can't afford a failure, certainly not from the standpoint of their image or customer loyalty, all of which equates to $$. But if they're too conservative, they'll be too far behind ... my feeling is that they really have to be ahead of the competition wrt to quality, perhaps features.
It's disappointing - and to some, even frustrating - to hear nothing from them about their future plans in this area. Of course, silence is preferred to a failure, or announcing a product that they can't deliver, for whatever reason. What frustrates me - and I'm not even that interested in digital cameras, so I can imagine the frustration of others who are - is that Pentax is taking so long to get a viable product to market, their poor marketing and distribution notwithstanding.
