Thanks for that. FCPX is (allegedly) a replacement eventually for the
current FCP. The problem is that editors on the whole are a very
conservative bunch - it will take the best part of 5 years to get
current FCP users onto FCPX. Our problem is that when you use the
software to make a living, you have a good setup that works smoothly,
you tend to stick with it.

If I ever do anything major to my Mac, I do it when I have several days
off - I can't afford the downtime if it all goes tits up! I suspect I
will consider FCPX when I eventually upgrade to new hardware, and once
FCPX has well and truly bedded in.

I've got iMovie 08 but it's unusable - I suspect I would consider the 11
version as same ;-)
