Albert, I would suggest, within "solution 2" the acquisition of a used SMC FA 100/2.8. I got mine from KEH last year at 200 USD, you can't go wrong with such a lens and KEH is a reputable place. Lamentably they have none right now, but you can find it elsewhere, I'm sure.
