If you can't hit any of the Pentax offerings, the Tamrons seem to be universally acclaimed. As AF is not neccessarily an asset for this (they can be used for both macro and portrait) work, you have a range of MF lenses from the big T, going back over 20 years, that can be adapted with the PKA ADII to work on all Pentax DSLRs as an A lens.
