According to P�l, they were never using the Philips chip. Certainly they never claimed so and neither did Philips (who had a section on their web page boasting that they were chosen as the source for the original Pentax digital). I believe P�l's sources also indicated that Contax was using a CMOS sensor, rather than a CCD.
