Absolutely, I have that planned. I have done some formal tests, but just to 
check for focus issues and centering defectsm everything turned out just fine.

Hello John,

it is pretty simple to test your lens.  Many of us, myself included
use the lens extensively without seeing the problem that Charles had.
It appears to be his particular sample that has been repaired
multiple times.

If you are concerned about using yours, just make a few test shot
mimicking the scenario you will be shooting and see if it will be ok.
