John, I suspect that if your lens doesn't produce excessive CA in
normal use it won't suddenly succumb to the pressure of shooting a
group:-)

It's been to service 3 times now... I need to to some testing to see
if it's that severe still.
And, to be fair, the first service was due to a loose screw in the
base of the barrel... the 2nd time was focus issues... and the third
time was to repair damage I did when I dropped my camera bag (I
never sent it in to "fix that awful CA").
However, with that many visits to the bench - including the rebuild
of the front of the barrel that last time - it's likely that
whatever did that isn't doing it anymore. Fingers crossed!
