Since my ZX-M does include the "ready light" contact, at least that should work with the 433D. I like my 383 Super as it does everything I need. The reason I'm asking about the 433D is that I've found a used Pentax-dedicated one for super cheap and if it'll fire OK on my camera than I can move the 383 up to the umbrella. > As for your lighting plan, it sounds good. For a weak > fill-in, set the flash on the camera on low power (1/2 or > 1/4). Yes, that's the plan. In fact, I'll probably be close enough that even 1/4 power is a lot of fill. I like using either Elite Chrome 200 or Fuji NPH (rated at 320) from distances of around 8-10 feet. I really like my SMC-M 135 f/3.5 lens for up-close portraits, especially at f/5.6 or f/8 to keep the background out of focus. Given that I like that particular combination of film and lens/aperture, it's a bonus that I don't need a whole ton of photons to get a good exposure. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
