China caught up with the US in CO2 production sometime in October of
this year. At least that's when it was officially acknowledged. The US
hasn't been the largest producer "by far" for quite some time now.

Unfortunately I have not been out of the US, although I wish I had. (Just over the
border to Mexico and Canada).
But that's just me. However, seeing motorcycles in nature spots
doesn't appeal.
places like these see at the most 5-10 motorcycles a year. small
cubic capacity motocycles (200-350 cc) that are mostly very fuel
efficient and whose emissions can be handled pretty well by the
environment because the numbers are so few....objecting to motorcycles
in nature spots also i feel conveniently pushes moral responsibility
for pollution, for the environment, elsewhere. the US remains the
largest emission of green house gases by a huge huge margin. like i
said, that's just my take...or my justification, if you can call it that
for motorcycling to places like the himalayas... apart from
enjoying myself immensely :-)

Well, that's good to hear about very few visiting. Hey, I know. The US
totally hoovers on the global warming situation. I do fervently hope that that
will change and we will improve. Fingers crossed.
