Banding can be a problem with all DSLRs, it usually shows up at higher
ISOs. (What a "higher" ISO is depends on the sensor chip).

Is banding inherent to the Bayer pattern sensors; something to do with
the algorithm necessary to fill in the blanks?
I wonder if the Foveon sensors Sigma uses have the same problem with
banding at high ISOs?
