Stewart used to show up at Ford's Dearborn test track and drive the
handling course with a large salad bowl looking dish (with gently curving
sides) attached to the hood with a small ball in it. He'd then proceed to
lap the track at speed without ever having having the ball come out of the
dish - an indication of how smooth he drove.
He'd also modulate the brakes on a complete stop so that it was impossible
to see the nose dive & recover.

I'll second that! Works for motorcycles as well as cars. ...
There was an article I read years ago. The reporter for some car mag went
to a racing school. First exercise was going round the track with a glass
of water on the dash. Try not to spill it.
The reporter was bored, wanted to go fast.
"Who does this guy think he is, Jackie Stewart?
Oh, yeah, actually he is Jackie Stewart."
