Ha! I knew you'd mention that! And of course, you're completely right. Sony pro/broadcast gear was/is first rate. Even Betamax was technically "better" than VHS (and was the first to offer stereo), it just didn't take off because you could only get 4 hours on a tape. So, no, I can't say I'm surprised at all that Sony is making leaps and bounds now that SLR's have become wholly electronic.
