I may add that a Samsung manager said the following to the audience on occasion of their press conference in Cologne:

1) The technical partnership with Pentax is going ahead. Samsung never discussed the possibility to buy Pentax camera division from Hoya, and they currently have no plan to do that. 2) Samsung is developing an intermediate product between compacts and DSLR's (something more or less like the Panasonic G1), and it's going to be a Samsung-only product, not a joint venture with Pentax.
