No, when power is down (after my preset timeout) the beeping ends. It is just very odd that with this particular lens it goes on beeping for quite some time. I may have to experiment with other lenses and other distance settings.

Again, a 1/3Ev or 2/3Ev is not abnormal, but the 1Ev of missed exposure triggered my internal alarm, you know.
