I think it really depends on how one uses the tool. I have compared it to my Jr High experience of shooting a roll of B&W, developing it and printing in the same day. I am able to see what is working and what's not in a timely manner so that I can get things locked in my head better. I think its a great learning tool as opposed to carefully shooting a few shots here and there and forgetting wtf I was trying to do. I still do shoot more carefully than my son who is taking is first class in photography.
