Huh? Why not just dedicate one of your existing digital cameras to  
the task, use it for the next five or six years with the same lens on  
it? It will be much easier than trying to get coordinated scans of  
400-900 film exposures, not to mention a hell of lot less work.

For a 30 second motion video at 24fps you'll need 720 exposures. 416  
exposures for 30 seconds is only 14fps, ... that will be pretty jerky.

I did this with one of the faculty back in 1969-72 when I was in high  
school. We used a Bolex H16 movie camera, had a "permanent" tripod  
set up at an appropriate vantage point, and dedicated the camera and  
lens to the task through the one and a half year exterior building  
process. Made several exposures at the same times of day, every day,  
throughout the process. What we learned from testing was that it was  
better to build a full enclosure for that camera so that we could get  
perfectly registered frames rather than the small variations that  
occur from unmounting and remounting the camera from the tripod every  
day.

It came together in a 3 minute, 24fps presentation ... about 4,500  
frames.
I'd much rather have done it with a modern DSLR.
