In a test performed by the German journal FOTOMAGAZIN several years ago, the 17 mm Tokina was superior to the 17mm Tamron. The Tamron has one advantage though: it has built in filters. This may be an issue since vignetting might become a problem with screw on external filters. Did anyone notice this to be a problem with the Toina?
