Another potential inexpensive title might be "Travel Photography : A Guide to Taking Better Pictures" by Richard I'Anson. It is inexpensive, only US$13.59, at Amazon. The title is misleading as it really is a primer with an incredible amount of illustrative examples. I always bring it with me when I travel with the intention of using my camera. It is small and easy to read on the plane. I usually see something that perks my interest and I'll try to incorporate it during that trip. (I'm lucky - I think - that my job requires me to travel nearly every week. If I know ahead of time that I'll be making multiple visits I'll try to find out about the city the first time and bring the camera later if the schedule permits.
