My plaster cast was taken off today, only 3.5 weeks after breaking my
wrist. Here's a picture of my Frankenstein-like scar:

The photo also shows clearly how much my muscles have wasted in such a
short time - that's a big surprise. Otherwise it's doing very well,
and I have started on some simple physio exercises to try and get the
movement back in my wrist.

If anybody else here has had a similar injury I'd be interested to
learn how much movement you managed to recover, and in what period of
time. When I broke the wrist the surgeon told me not to expect to
recover full movement, and suggested I might not be able to ride a
bicycle again. That I find hard to believe, even if I do have
restricted movement, hence my request for information.

Good news is, the insurance have paid out from my lost watch, so a
brand new Tag Heuer Aquaracer is swimming in my general direction at
the moment. Now I just need the swelling to go down so I can wear it.
