I have a long-held contempt for doctors who tell me what I will not
be able to do in the future. I've not suffered this particular kind
of injury myself but others that I know from many years of
motorcycling and bicycling have suffered similar if not substantially
worse injuries. Recovering is sometimes a slow process ... but they
all went back to their bikes after recovering sufficiently and
continue to ride today, if they haven't stopped riding for other
reasons.

Every single one of them was told "you might not be able to ride your
bike again" by some supposedly well-meaning physician. These dolts
don't figure for what passion and personal motivation means...

We can do practically anything we want with our minds and bodies, if
our heart is in it.
