I suspect a shorter list would be the list of countries we've managed ~NOT~
to irritate or provoke.  Sad to say, but we Americans seem to have a bad
habit at times of propping up a regime du jour, only to lock horns with the
same regime a few years later.  I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Iraqis
yet.  Or groups with ties to the old Serbian government.  Or just about any
country where the US has an unwelcome military presence.  But it certainly
wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be another fringe lunatic (or
lunatics) within our own borders.  I just hope to God that this doesn't turn
into mass xenophobia among the American public, and mass calls for
suspension of some or all of our civil liberties "for our own good".
