My very first camera was an ME-Super (w/ 50mm 1.4 SMCP-M). The best gift any
14 years old could have received on his birthday. Unfortunately this was
stolen a few years later when I foolishly left it in full view inside my
car. I replaced it with a Super Program with a 50mm 1.4 SMCP-A. Somehow, I
managed to lose this camera to my girlfriend in college. I don't exactly
remember the circumstances surrounding this incident but I think it had
something to do with her posing for me in various stages of dressed (or
otherwise) in lieu of her borrowing the camera to some forgotten event or
others. Of course, she proceeded to lose the camera in said event but I
don't remember being overly upset about it since she was really a sweet
girl. And I managed to retain possesion of the negs of our very private
photoshoot even after we went our seperate ways :).
The next camera I owned was the SF-10 with a 35-70 zoom. Of all the Pentax
cameras I've owned, this is the only one that I was not truly happy with for
various reasons. I gave it to another girlfriend as soon as the PZ-1p hit
the market in '95 or '96 and I've been shooting with this camera ever since.
This is also the only camera that I've built a system for with 4 lens,
flash, tripod etc. And I learned my lessons from past mistakes. I don't
leave it in the car and I don't let my girlfriend touch it. Lol.
So all in all, I've owned 4 cameras in my life and they were all Pentax (I
don't know if that's good or bad). I'm hoping to make the MZ-S my 5th Pentax
body in December but I'll never get rid of the PZ1-p. It will always have a
place in my camera bag for as long as it holds up. And when it breaks and
repair is no longer feasable, then it would occupy a prominent place in my
den somewhere next to my football and basketball trophies. I guess, I'm just
getting more sentimental in my olden years (35). HAH!!
