I thought I had read where the Sigma 70-300 APO had a better rating than the
DL, but regardless, I bought the APO version for my wife as she is
interested in birds and nature shots. She has been very happy with it and I
looked at some hand held shots she had blown up to 8x12's and I was pretty
impressed with them and I'm fairly picky. They were sharp overall, and while
the contrast and color were OK, it was very cloudy and the scenes were low
contrast and rather mono-nochromatic. Her film choice may have affected the
outcome too. Other smaller prints appeared to have fine color and contrast.

As for the lens communicating with bodies, we have used it on three
different ZX models and it seems to work fine in all modes.
