No one really knows for sure, but current thought is that sociopaths are born that way. Fanatics don't bother me. We're a list of fanatics after all. Sociopaths with an innate lust for power, brilliant and charismatic do. This very type of fanatics has been going on for centuries. Spain has it's history with it as do the Slavs and much of Africa. Further, it's irrelevant how a person, group or society becomes the way they are. Even if caused by some event or action, the idea that taking away the event or action will solve the problem is naive. It's like a child who, when he learns he has cavities and must get fillings because he didn't brush his teeth, thinks he can avoid the dentist by brushing twice as hard, long and often to make the cavity go away.

Some people are simply bent on conquering, codify it and teach it to others teach it to their children. They do what they do because they want to. Everything else is an excuse. To say it is not so is to deny a major part of human history Kahn, Attila, the Roman expansion, Nebekenezzer, Meads & Persians, British colonialism, French Colonialism, Spanish colonialism, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, etc., etc.

I'm so tired of the Snivel Chamberlains of this world.

Regards,
Bob...

I don't think that's true. Fanatics of any persuasion do not believe in minding their own business or respecting the beliefs of others.

Do you believe a fanatic is born that way or do you believe that outside forces make him that way?
