I have that older version (manual focus)

And i think, i can get older flash cheaper.
Sigma EF-500 is more suitable for a DSLR.

Is your 645 the original version (manual focus) or the 645n or 645n-II?

The manual focus original will only do TTL metering properly with the
older-style analog flashes, which the Sigma definitely isn't.

I use a Pentax AF280-T with my 645.
